get the canned reply. There was once a time when Louisiana was a democratic state. But, now, it is sooo republican. We have Cassidy, John Kennedy, and Garrett Graves. We have the Duck Dynasty people. We only have one democrat rep. that I can think of. So, down here it is a waste of time trying to get through to most of them.

Things will change back one day though. It's all cyclic. But by then, we will probably have relocated to a more progressive state. And it's a shame because this state is truly a beautiful state.

My reps are Harris and Feinstein and I call ALL the senators and half the congressmen with addresses and zip codes from "for sale" residences in each of their specific states/districts. I tell them "I am a constituent and all my fellow teacher, nurses, family, church goers, whatever are with me and will not vote for them unless..... ". I use my cell phone since they can be from anywhere. I got this idea at a protest a year ago and it WORKS! I have called almost 500 times. Other DUers have done this with success too. A relative works for my rep in Congress in DC and she said that they do keep track of what issues callers are concerned about and it does go to the reps. It literally takes 3 min to Google Zillow and a specific state/city and 2 more min to call.

When did so many DUers decide activism was just not worth it and the fight was over before it was begun?

Well, I continue to call my two (one worthless, one dependable D), Collins and Murkowski and 2-4 others daily and will continue to call until the final vote. "Dupe" or no, I will fight.
