Does this seem odd to you, too? After Ryan, Romney cancels TV interviews

I just read it in LBN.

Mitt Romney has cancelled this weekend's scheduled television interviews, following today's announcement that Paul Ryan had been tapped as running mate.

PBS Newshour confirms that the Romney campaign has cancelled today's interview with Gwen Ifill, which was to air on Monday. The Romney campaign also cancelled one-on-one interviews with local networks in the Virginia area, where Romney launched his bus tour.

The Romney campaign did not respond to request for comment.

A sudden withdrawal from the media after his first major choice as a presidential candidate is peculiar. Usually they're out there spreading the message of why they're going to take the nation by storm. Instead Mitt decided to go into hiding.

I think this was a last minute decision made out of desperation. My thoughts are he's going to let his surrogates soften up the media on Sunday before he picks a set of talking points on Ryan.

The point of having Ryan, a former republican speech writer, is to have someone on the ticket that knows what a message is.

I'm sure he has to wait until his handlers give him his new message to be able to speak. Romney is nothing more than a puppet now. He will do and say what he is told to do and say from here on out.

They're planning to use stealth, both in the "sneaky" and in the STEAL-th meaning.

This showcases the whole campaign's lack of preparedness.

...spoiling the anticipated "bump" in the polls. He managed to put his foot in his mouth introducing Ryan, just imagine how much damage he could have done in a couple of one-on-one interviews.

He wants to keep the discussion of his choice to a minimum.
It will be interesting what topics hit the streets on Monday.

she hasn't been talking again...I suspect that Ryan will be doing all the talking from here on out. Rmoney likely picked Ryan now so that he didn't have to do anymore interviews and not be asked about his taxes.
