The president who admitted on tape to sexual assault nominated a man to the Supreme Court who has now been accused of attempting to rape a girl in high school.
The confirmation of Trumps nominee, Brett Kavanaugh, to the Supreme Court seems all but inevitable. And yet a shocking new report that accuses Kavanaugh of attempting to rape a girl when they were in high school should bring the process to a screeching halt.
According to The New Yorker, a woman alleges in a letter which is now in the possession of the Senate Judiciary Committee that at a party in the early 1980s, Kavanaugh and a classmate of his held her down and Kavanaugh attempted to force himself on her.
She says the boys turned up music that was playing in the room to conceal the sound of her protests, and that Kavanaugh covered her mouth with his hand. She was able to free herself. - ShareBlue

(4,919 posts).... The passage of time doesn't erase what Kavanaugh did to this woman... Holding her down, turning the music up to drown out her "protests"... That should never ever be forgiven... I don't care how old he was at the time.

(4,919 posts)Taking away the opportunity for him to pursue a lifetime dream job is a slap on the wrist, after which he can cry us a river.
He should be forever precluded from weighing in on any issue involving women's rights, because he's demonstrated that he has no respect for a woman's right to say "no."

(38,958 posts)unfortunately I do not believe that it will likely either occur or if it was to do so, be completed prior to his confirmation.
