Tin Foil Hat moment...

Normally I do not stray to the outer boundaries of politics because I have been up close and personal with the whole process for a good chunk of my life.

Most political people are too vain, too insecure, too loose lipped to keep elaborate schemes quiet.

But ponder on this; What if the GOP skull and bones crowd, after the convention and everything is set for the fall, Romney suddenly becomes incapable, for what ever reason, of finishing out the election.

I suppose Romney would drop off the ticket and Ryan would then become the presidential standard bearer for the GOP. He and not Romney would become the spokesman for the GOP. Let's face it, the kid does have some charisma that none of the wanna bees in the party of Lincoln ever had.

He would probably loose but then Ryan would now be the de facto leader of the GOP and the front runner for 2016.

For some reason, Ryan excites their base like no one can.

But then again, they might have wanted to get Ryan out and front to stop the relentless call for Romney's tax returns. Every day that Romney is on the defense is a wasted day for their campaign.

Not when they are listening to him speak. Man, that crowd died down quick this morning.

3. I noticed that too. He is not an eloquent speaker. Rather more like a drone.

Further more, I did not notice that Ryan could excite the base like no one can. Santorum excited the base big time and definitely Palin. Ryan is a pale imitation of those two.

who did they have? Baachman? Pawlenty? Portman? Jeese Ryan would look good to anyone when you consider the other choices. They're just glad it wasn't Tweedle Dee.

Palin excites the base even more than Ryan, I think.

Do you honestly believe this is part of a master plan? First, the disaster that was Palin? Now Romney and Ryan?

Objectivity mandates that the rational view is that no one is driving the GOP clown car.

Supervillains exist only in comic books. The GOP is dysfunctional. Yay.

8. Part of that is because the Democratic Party has been afraid to stand against them.

This is a perfect storm of opportunity. We have a charismatic, intelligent leader matched up against weak and, yes, you're right, irrational opponents.

Such a time can do wonders for rubbery spines.

I could be wrong. But the Skull and Bones is the exclusive club that Yalies belong to. Both GWBush and his daddy were members.
