when the President went to him and asked him who he could nominate that the Republicans in the Senate would vote for. (I think. Trying to find the article that mentions this.)
Mitch lied his fucking ass off, of course. (This part is true, though.)

Mitch lied his fucking ass off yes, and if we get a majority in the Senate...Mitch will be treated the way he treated Obama..which was awful beyond words..that is no words could express clearly the way Mitch treated Obama...none..no fucking words.

(1,936 posts)asshole McConnell. Another possibility is sue his ass in court for failure to uphold his duty "to uphold ... the Constitution." It is and was his duty to fill the SCOTUS vacancy with deliberate speed.

(56,828 posts)was withdrawn Garland early on, then nominated somebody similar and told them, "This nominee is sent to the Senate for advise and consent. If the Senate does not complete the process of advising and consenting within 60 days, they will have waived their right and the nominee will be considered confirmed for the open seat."

(56,828 posts)and, the idea I posted was not mine. There were a few articles in late spring/early Summer 2016 that said that Obama should have put some sort of time limit on Garland to get a hearing.
Plenty of SCOTUS judges have been rejected before, but never had one not gotten so much as a hearing like Garland.
