(2,597 posts)who was notorious. I've worked among those in a large and prominent Dallas and D.C. law firm who were also sexual predators. They don't stop at one and this type of behavior starts early on. Maybe it would behoove so-called investigators to go back into a young man's early history to see when the pattern began to emerge. I'll bet you it started when he was younger that in puberty in Kavanaugh's case. Yeah. I know that sounds ridiculous, and it's usually pooh-poohed away with the throwout, "oh, he was just curious." Hah! As if. Sure it starts that way. But there are certain people who won't be denied what they want. Many of these guys (most?) are narcissists and some of them have a more malevolent psychosexual personality disorder. What they do and will continue to do is repeatedly attempt assault and more whenever they feel they secure enough from detection and/or exposure by the
victim(s). It's not surprising that a vast number of men who do this are very prominent in their communities, their businesses and within the media. Prominent people feel they've got some sort of protective armor that will prevent their victims from going public with the information out of fear, much of which is instilled by the abuser who will threaten them with their jobs, ruination and public humiliation.

(25,111 posts)rules and laws supersede man's rules and laws. Plus, their GAWD always forgive any and all Republicans - "only".
Just ask Republican's lord and savior, t-rump.

(12,448 posts)sounded like an escalation of something he'd done before. Alcohol emboldens men to go from unwanted "fondling" to attempted or actual rape. It's a mindset that many privileged young men have that they somehow deserve to use women's bodies for their own pleasure; what the woman feels about it is immaterial to them.

(2,597 posts)There was a quality to it that implied to me he'd done this or similar before. The actual level of physical aggression and the nature of time and place (another person's home, no less), a locked door and music amped up to muffle the attack. And the fact that he was with a friend made it even more sinister. Does anyone doubt that the intent was for him to have his way with her, so to speak, then turn her over to his buddy?

(14,537 posts)And the idea that they both pulled her into the room makes me think this was done before. Too in sync with each other. One pushed her onto the bed, while the other locked the door.
There's more to come out about this cretin.

It sounded coordinated -- like they'd done this before.

(31,261 posts)How many NORMAL guys join clubs like that, or even know they exist? I am willing to bet that some of his debt was related to buying escorts. The guy appears to have sexual issues.

(4,066 posts)They had that list out within such a short time. It was already assembled for some reason. They knew something was coming.
If there is more out there it is a real shame for the women who were abused. I hope they come forward to stop him. This time around I think we have a much better chance to stop this than when Anita Hill was assaulted for a second time by the Senate during Thomas' hearings.

(10,839 posts)Everyone knows that teenage boys are in hormone overdrive. And teenagers often do stupid things.
But . . .the story that Ford tells: the assault which includes holding her down, tearing at her clothes and putting a hand over her mouth to keep her quiet IS NOT NORMAL for any teenager. Plus, Ford took a lie detector test and passed. Though not admissible in court, it does lend to her credibility as does the fact that she had spoken about the assault earlier, way before Kavanaugh's nomination.
I suspect if these allegations are true there will be other women out there. Because . . . privilege, because if you get away with this sort of behavior once then repeated occurrences are more likely. And now there's a rumor of some untoward behavior while the man clerked.
Very, very dicey!! As is refuting you were ever at the party. Because witnesses.

(108,990 posts)she said she couldn't remember which party -- the where or when -- it happened at. She just remembers hanging out with boys from Georgetown Prep over a several month period, during which time this happened.
