NV-SEN: Heller Embraces Trump In Effort to Win Re-Election

Sen. Dean Heller (R-NV) called President Trump “a great leader” who had revived Nevada’s economy, a striking departure from the arm’s-length approach Mr. Heller took with Mr. Trump in the 2016 campaign and in the first months of his presidency, the New York Times reports.

“In a private conference call with White House aides, other Nevada Republican officials and local activists, Mr. Heller — the most endangered Senate Republican up for re-election this November — offered an unqualified embrace of the president.”

Said Heller: “Our arms are wide open. We’re so thrilled to have the president.”

Things were really bad in Nevada under President Obama. What with all that gambling revenue rolling in, new hotels and arenas going up, and profits skyrocketing. Drumpf really turned it all around.

In the governors race. Not sensible and not likely. Other polls have Sisolak leading by as much as 12.

Now, I don't believe the 12 either but Sisolak likely leads by 4-6.

Many strange polls from Ipsos in the latest batch.

Trump's approval in Nevada is far above his national number but not great, generally reported as 46-49%. No question midterms are problematic in Nevada because the cow counties turn out dependably. However, the Clark County turnout operation was really upgraded in 2006, in preparation for Harry Reid's difficult midterm senate race in 2010. I was living in Henderson at the time. The difference in outreach between 2002-2004 and 2006-2008 was surreal. That's why I wasn't shocked Reid pulled out the upset over Sharron Angle in 2010. Las Vegas political expert Jon Ralston predicted that outcome despite the polling with Angel several points ahead.

The governors race should help Democratic enthusiasm since it has been so long since we held that office, similar to Florida.

4. Online poll and English only

Yet Nate Silver rates Ipsos as B+ pollster.

Seemingly the English-only aspect would hurt Democratic numbers, more often than not.

YouGov is online only yet the 538 Trump approval compilation is flooded with those polls

has skyrocketed, gas for the car is more expensive, housing is more expensive and that $18 extra in the paycheck from the "tax break" doesn't cover the $400 extra for health insurance.
