Conservative columnist has perfect solution for Kavanaugh accuser to avoid GOP bullying

I think this makes sense. Dr. Ford does have options here.

https://www.rawstory.com/2018/09/conservative-columnist-perfect-solution-kavanaugh-accuser-avoid-gop-bullying-state-case/?utm_source=push_notifications

snip of article.

“Ford can use the hearing to put the senators, who have behaved shabbily, on defense,” she wrote, before suggesting, “Ford has another option: Hold a news conference with her own experts and make the case directly to the American people. She can sit down for an interview with a respected TV journalist. She can say whatever she wants, make certain that experts are heard and even recount the much more extensive investigative efforts undertaken when Hill stepped forward. To make her case to the American people and convince them that she is sincere, honest and credible, Ford doesn’t need the Senate.”

Freaking asshole russian repug Senators just want to destroy her and don't care anything about the truth of what Kavanaugh did, she can & should outfox them and take this directly to the American people. They won't listen to a thing she says and will just try to defile her again with their self-serving hatred. I like your idea much better, at least that way others in the country can get a better idea of what the repugs did when putting in Kavanaugh when he's a known perjurer & sexual assaulter. Repugs are going to install the ass, no matter what, so an unbiased hearing of her story, also with having her therapist and others verify her story, would be the best way to go.

The old men who populate the congress make the laws, and their mindset is stuck in the "mad men" era when men expected women to allow be meek and allow themselves to be abused and debased. They won't change, so they must be removed so the laws can reflect the rights of women, equality and modern social norms.

The court of public opinion might raise awareness, but its weak sauce for true justice. Ford wants the validation of an investigation, and the legitimacy of a formal hearing to bring to her attacker face to face with what he did and force him feel at least some retribution in being denied a seat on the SCOTUS.

I also suggested she look into Kavavaugh's gambling problems and debts, which is what the GOP was really worried about from the beginning before the new accusations of sexual assault.

This first article seems to leave open the possibility of charges, but additional info from the second article indicates otherwise:
https://bethesdamagazine.com/bethesda-beat/police-fire/county-police-wont-investigate-allegations-against-kavanaugh-unless-complaint-is-filed/

“We would only investigate if something has been reported to us,” Officer Rick Goodale, a police spokesman, said Monday. “As of now no one has come forward. We are not going to initiate an investigation.”

Goodale said whether the statute of limitations would apply if a complaint was filed would depend upon the type of crime reported.

According to Maryland state law, there is no statute of limitations for felonies in Maryland. Some assault and sex offenses are considered felonies and there is no limitations on when charges could be filed if those offenses are alleged to have occurred.

But then, there was this:
https://www.yahoo.com/news/allegation-against-kavanaugh-lead-criminal-charges-184258777.html

"COULD KAVANAUGH FACE STATE CHARGES?

The allegations Ford detailed to The Washington Post appear to be misdemeanors that would be beyond the statute of limitations under Maryland law, said Randolph Rice, a Baltimore-based attorney who specializes in sex crimes.

The allegations could be interpreted as second-degree assault and a fourth-degree sex offense, Rice said. But both charges are misdemeanors and would be far beyond the statute of limitations, which is typically one or three years, depending on the offense.

A police spokesman in Montgomery County, Maryland, didn't immediately respond to questions about whether police would investigate.

This guy is being confirmed.... lets move on to something we can actually do, like get the vote out. Once Dr. Ford announced she was possibly not testifying, she threw into the GOPs talking points. If she doesnt show, she will be mocked by Trump and his cretins as a glory seeker, mistaken little girl, out to fuck a great man, etc, etc, etc... and holding the shitbag over the democrats heads. This will be a blowback to the democrats, and may....MAY (in my opinion) cast doubt and cost votes in the November election. This just may be the push the right wingers needs to get their shitstains to vote.....

This is a woman, who prior to a few mere weeks ago was an anonymous citizen just going about her life with her family. Not everyone is capable or wired to deal with this type of spotlight.

Just keep this in mind if she chooses not to testify Friday. I do hope she does, I hope she goes after each and every one of these old crusty bastards that have slandered her and made her life an absolute hellhole to the point that she now requires a security detail.

Far more than the Republicans or Trump. Did you see how much money was donated within 24 hours for her and her family’s security? Have you watched and listened to how many women are talking about her in glowing terms as pundits, legislators and professionals? Have you seen how many men are supporting her? If you’ve been following the media coverage you know this is a red hot issue. The Republicans are in deeper trouble than they’ve ever been. They are going to feel it in the midterm elections just mere weeks away.

The people who need to be careful are exactly those men on the panel.

I also can only imagine what its like to have your life under the microscope, from the media, racist politicians, Nazi twitter trolls who dox people. I may never have experienced a few of these, I can only imagine.

I hope she has what it takes. Its going to get ugly, she is much braver than the average person. A person who in the future will be looked upon as a hero to millions of other women who have had to go through what she has gone through.
