The real reason the GOP loves Kavanaugh

It's because of his role in the Starr Chamber attacks on Bill Clinton.

Forget all the terrible things that, to be very honest, Kavanaugh will do to the people of this country if he ever gets the chance. This is just one more finger in Hillary Clinton's eye.

2. That's why they've loved him since the Clinton times.

They love him more now because he completely changed his tune and now claims sitting presidents can't be indicted or convicted, even of treason. That's why they love him, he has no morals, no base, just does whats convenient for russian repugs, no matter how illegal it is. He is their "get of out jail free" card to stop them all being thrown in jail for treason.

3. The cherry on top. You're right, of course, but "the GOP"

you're talking about had no say in his choice OR in what he will do to them from the court if he can.

The @24% of the electorate who are the remnant GOP are distilled to the nation's hard-core authoritarians who support anything their leader(s) says to do. They were told to want Kavanaugh, so they do. They were told to support putting terrified children in cages, so they cannot be convinced it's wrong. They were told to support the ruin of our trade agreements, so they do, even farmers among them whose wellbeing is threatened. Neither they nor we have seen the limits of what they will do because their leaders tell them to. History suggests for most there are none.

Now, their conservative leaders in government, they're...mostly the same, just in office. They pack SCOTUS with archconservatives who will vote to transfer America's wealth and power to the people they follow, and who they believe will take care of them in return.

Now, the people telling them all these authoritarians what to do, they've become so wealthy that democracy is a continual nuisance and even insult to them, as well as an existential threat. Therefore, they're using the others to change our government to a form that will serve them much more satisfactorily. Trump. of course, has a special additional personal desire to be both loved and feared by the hundreds of millions whom most of the others just don't want to have to notice. Third-world aspirations by first-world billionaires.

And Kavanaugh, or a peg of his shape, a necessary tool for achieving them without bloodshed.

4. Kavanaugh is first and foremost a loyal Republican operative

and always will be. The Constitution means nothing to him.
