Senator Bill Cassidy, Senator John N. Kennedy and Kavanaugh

So, I wrote both my senators, Bill Cassidy and John N. Kennedy regarding Kavanaugh and the alleged assault. I immediately got a reply from Bill Cassidy, the next day, on how wonderful Kavanaugh was, all his experience, etc. The canned reply I always get, as someone said, probably from one of his staff. So, I then wrote Bill Cassidy again, and asked why there was no rush to get Merrick Garland voted in, have hearings, nothing whatsoever but yet there is this rush to get Kavanaugh in. I kinda thought I'd get another "immediate" reply. Well, as of today there is no reply. There has been no reply from John N. Kennedy as well from the first email I sent.

This is the major problem with Republican Senators. They only care about one thing, power and their job. They do believe they are "entitled". In fact, someone wrote an editorial in our newspaper, The Advocate, about trying to contact John Kennedy and that it is virtually impossible to contact him, set up a meeting with him, state an opinion to him, whatever. John Kennedy has switched from being a Democrat to a Republican umpteen times. His party affiliation depends on "who is in charge at the time". He has his "cutesy" southern little sayings, but he is just another one in the bunch of those just trying to keep a job. His plans are to run against our Democratic Governor in a couple of years.

I have always prided myself in voting on issues and not party. I have voted for republicans as well as democrats. But, now, after all of this nonsense, I do believe I will stick to party.

Back in the day, I often gave a break to those running unopposed for local offices, like county coroner. But then there was a nasty scandal involving one of those, so they lost my well-meaning vote for good.
