1. What needs to happen though, is Dems need to make said fait accompli as costly as possible

If we can't stop it, we need to make them pay as much as possible for having done it. Not just tomorrow, or the next election, but for a generation and more.

The sexual assault allegations have given red state Dems cover and exposed republicans like Collins and Murkowsky. It also has likely hurt McSally in Arizona and Scott in Florida. I expect Collins and Murkowski to save their asses and vote him down, or both will lose their seats for sure. Murkowski is really exposed as the Gov and Lt. Gov came out forcefully against Kavanaugh, either one can challenge her.

If she is persuasive, it will be close. If she is not, this is all done.

They lose women that are looking for a reason to stay with them, women from longtime republican families that have concerns about that party but stay with it because of grandparents and parents being in that party. We have plenty of them where I live.

11. We need to focus on November and 2020.

If Dens take control of Congress in 2018 and add to that in 2020 as well as elect a Dem Prez, we are in good shape relative to the Court. If we get Dem control in 2020, our two oldest Justices should resign so that they can be replaced with Dems in charge. That leaves an 82 year old Thomas, who we may get to replace. Also, my sense is that Roberts may quit early, he would prefer doing it with repugs in control, but if we vote strategically (instead of the far left acting like babies), we can have the Court fully under our control within five years of Kavanaugh, if not sooner. But if we get the no difference idiots blowing elections for us, I trully doubt that we will ever again have any control over the Court.

and Dems make the most out of a shot at Kavanaugh's sex acts in high school and college, republicans have a big problem. Mitch may hold a vote, but the nominee would likely go down.

I'd hate to face Sen. Kamala Harris in a cross examination.

has the vast amount of 5 minutes to question Preppy Bret. With a little stalling and some verbal obfuscation that should work out to about 1 question - unanswered, of course - for Kamala.

The Democrats ought to do what the Republicans are going to do and give all their time to Kamala. I will also be curious to see if Grassley will be stupid enough to try to tell Kamala to shut-up. (That would be a really bad look.)

a criminal complaint before the final vote takes place. Even Republicans would think twice about voting for someone who might be led out of the Supreme Court in handcuffs.

today's story makes me not so sure.

But it is amazing that after today's story we still wonder if any Repug will vote against him.
