When I was pregnant, I read a lot about that state of being. And I found something REALLY galling!

Used to be, and NOT so long ago, that women were denied pain relief during labor. Why? Because it was simply "our place" to endure the pain of childbirth and that's how it had to be. It was considered a consequence of "the sins of Eve." That WE ALL were expected to pay for!

Pain relief and epidurals and all that? Only a relatively recent 20th-century development.

Lets be clear-I was dis-inherited from a rich southern family when I was 13 along with my siblings. I wish for justice but will settle to outlive my Stepmother & urinate on her grave.

I started reading the family history & there came the story of a large property they owned & how proud they had paid (I believe) $3,000.00 for " A fine breading Negro". That was a huge amount of money back then & he obviously bought him for making more slaves.

The document went on to bemoan the loss of the property when all the slaves refused to work for free those ungrateful so & so's....

Don't miss them and I felt like burning the document but saved myself from it. I hate those genealogy plugs-I know my family history & am ashamed of it.
