Some thoughts and questions I'm having this morning re Avenatti and Dr. Christine Blasey Ford.

Today is supposed be the day that Avenatti goes public with his client that has more damaging information about Kavanaugh.
Avenatti's Twitter page is still closed down unless you are already a "follower" so I can't see if there are any updates.

If anyone hears anything about their media interview, please post.

Regarding Dr. Ford, I remember reading that she is afraid to fly, stemming from her fear of being trapped in confined spaces without an escape route. If she is being driven to Washington, she should have already departed by now.

But perhaps now that there are/were two GoFundMe accounts to raise money for her security and other personal needs,
(so far, almost $400,000) she will have a security detail at all times and on her airplane flights as well, she may feel safe enough to fly.

Man, I'm a nervous wreck for her. I can't even fathom the courage this woman has and what she is sacrificing for her country.

1. One of the gofundme pages for Dr. Ford was closed because the goal was exceeded.

There is one that is still active. Here it is:

I just sent her a few dollars that I could afford. I'm figuring that her expenses are horrific right now.

She's had to go into hiding and move to a hotel so I imagine she has had to take a leave from her job. Her sons are living with friends so they are not a normal family unit now. She needs security 24/7 because of death threats and that is very expensive. How long until she feels safe from these deplorable bastards, who knows?

I'm feeling a lot of intense hate right now and I know that's not good for me (or anyone), physically or mentally.

The reason is the media would be following every move she makes driving. Oh she just stopped in Denver, then st. Louis etc. it’d be hell for her more then even now.

3. Yeah, when this first broke, the media was immediately staked out and swarming at her house

How she and her husband were able to get to a hotel without being followed, is a guess.

I wouldn't be surprised to learn they are wearing disguises and wigs. Seriously.

I'm just crying for this family right now.

4. She is testifying before the "government" as such, so why isn't the govt. paying for her security?

The Republicans and their followers are the ones who are creating the dangerous environment Dr. Ford must navigate, so it is our responsibility to make sure she is protected.

If the taxpayers can be billed for Rachel Mitchell's salary, room and board with security, I would imagine, they can pay for Dr. Ford's expenses, as well.

5. I do believe they worked that out with Senate as part of the negotiations that the Gov. would pay

for all her security that is required for her trip to Washington and back and her testimony.

But in her day to day life (if you could call it that now) in California, she has had to hire her own security to keep her safe from people that want to harm her and her family. Her sons have to be escorted to and from school. The death threats have been to the entire family, including the kids.

Bastards.

6. Thanks for the info. We know what type of characters/organizations these threats come from.

Protecting Trump and/or Kavanaugh under these circumstances would be a welcome challenge to them. That is scary in its own right.

I hope Dr. Ford and her family make it through this nightmare safely and can get on with their lives once it is over. The third woman stepping forward may cinch the end to the Kavanaugh chances for a lifetime position.
