Her background makes her a credible witness along with the many details she provides which if true indicate these men are gang rapists -- consistent with exactly what the first victim described them trying to do.

Now we have an actual gang rape victim who has come forwarded and says she told people about it at the time, and has witnesses.

This should be enough to put Kavenaugh in prison, not on the Supreme Court.

That should be the narrative, that at the very least Kavanaugh should be impeached not promoted.

We shall see. Watch cable news to see which narrative wins out;

1. This is a Leftist smear job.
2. Kavanaugh is a monster.

It's a fact that a lawyer has to serve his or her client.

Also, I'm Canadian. So I tune in here for American news, but it's not super-vital to my existence.

You're being quite rude.

But MAN they were popular for a time when I was high school/college age. And I remember when "you can't get these anymore."

Rorer 714s.

I remember one thing about them that made them especially popular. You could "get drunk" WITHOUT the alcohol, or the smell of alcohol, OR, for those who were figure-conscious, no calories.

People also substituted diet pills. I guess the popularity of ludes continued on into the 80's, I guess even into today?

Only a monster would spike drinks with grain alcohol and ludes. Privileged bastards.

My memory was - that during college (my years are from 1971-75) access to quaaludes started drying up. Suddenly they weren't readily available anymore. That friend you knew, who somehow always was able to get hold of some, wound up NOT being able to get them anymore.

I remember it as a kind of silly high. You'd get very sloppy and slap-happy. Not fattening either like alcohol was, and unlike with alcohol, there was no smell to give you away.

I looked it up:

Quaalude Nostalgia: A Retro Drug That Everyone Remembers Fondly
DAVID HERZBERG
FEB 21, 2012
Sleeping pills were a dime a dozen in the '70s but Quaalude took off like none had before -- until the drug authorities stamped out its use.

Quaalude remained an ordinary prescription-only drug until 1972, when abuse had grown prevalent enough to justify a small but classic drug panic. Medical journals and newspapers reported an epidemic, Congress convened hearings, and by the end of 1973 methaqualone was a Schedule II Controlled Substance with domestic production quotas being aggressively lowered each year by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

An illicit market for Quaalude had been established, however, and it continued to be fed by diversions from the licit supply chain: thefts from factories and warehouses, prescriptions from Dr. Feelgoods and larger-scale scrip mill chains, etc. So regulators stepped even harder on the brakes. The DEA lowered the domestic production quota all the way to zero in 1981 when the last American manufacturer stopped making it; Congress took the unusual step of passing a special act that moved Quaalude to Schedule I in 1983; and the DEA undertook an energetic diplomatic effort to shut down methaqualone production in other countries. By the mid-1980s the drug was mostly gone.

He pointed out that these young white princelings at places like Georgetown Prep and other elite all-boys schools might naturally gravitate toward law and government involvement/politics. And why not? It helps to know the law and how you can get around it or subvert it or use it against an adversary. And when you have allies among your friends who were fellow students, well, you're set up nicely then, 'eh? All your friends will back you up, and they'll all follow that "code" that Kavanaugh SAID, OUT LOUD, at a speech to students that we've seen on video: "What happens at Georgetown Prep STAYS at Georgetown Prep." OF COURSE it would. They'll all stick together.

My husband's pretty smart about human nature. He did NOT go to a prep school, btw.

While I was googling around just now, I found this:

Democrats need to get on the air and promise to hold investigations into the corruption of the judiciary committee.

Threaten members of the committee with an investigation. Use this as a get out the vote campaign rallying cry.

No one is above the law, including rich privileged kids or U.S. Senators.

And, frankly, I'm also very happy that, once again, Michael Avenatti hits pay dirt. Promised it, and then delivered as promised. As Charles Pierce wrote, only yesterday, "Michael Avenatti has yet to be wrong."
