Even if they push Kavanaugh's confirmation through, the GOP should be FURIOUS

with Don McGahn.

One of the most important jobs of the White House Counsel if to vet judicial nominees. They could have had a hard right activist judge like Gorsuch or Alito who would have voted the same as Kavanaugh about 99% of the time. And that person could have sailed through like Gorsuch did.

Now the confirmation is going to have lasting costs to the GOP for little to no benefit compared to other possible nominees.

It makes the putsch complete and irreversible. They sold their souls to the devil and the country to Russia to carry it out.

And almost nobody will notice the new boss same as the old boss. Our ignorant and starving grandchildren won't know the difference. Win/Win!

majorities in the house and senate and all he can do with it is barely pass one stinking tax cut?

7. Kavanaugh is an establishment guy

He comes from Ken Starr's office and was a favorite of W. This one was put on Trump by his handlers.

Given how well coordinated the GOP has been rushing Kavanaugh through and hiding Kavanaugh's actual record is unprecedented for Trump's incompetence and second-long attention span.

No, Trump isn't equipped to pull this off. He's even complained that Kavanaugh wasn't his first pick, for once, he's probably right on that account.

There are other conservatives who will vote exactly like him so why are Republicans in Washington determined to place him and no one else on the court?

5. Why should they be FURIOUS with Don McGahn? They and Trump knew what

Kavanaugh is. They know he will rule in their favor and that's why they want him. Don McGahn not vetting him was a bonus as far as they were concerned so please don't try to excuse the GOP for Kavanaugh .

Kavanaugh. Is .The. One. That. The. GOP. Wants.

He probably forgets when he last took a dump, the guy is clueless, incompetent, and erratic. No way Trump knew exactly what Kavanaugh was. Trump might have recognized his own: silver-spoon, upper class, horny groper, just like himself. But the rest? No way.

Kavanaugh is a deep GOP operative, has been since the day he graduated law school. This guy is a loyal party guy, this is about the GOP's longevity worries. Trump simply isn't equipped to think that long term.

what will save your sorry ass. Trump knows and the connection to his kids is why Kennedy resigned and they pushed Kavanaugh up based on his past.

12. I think Kavanaugh is a bit of serendipity for Trump.

One of Kavanaugh's contributions to W's era was being the guy saying the POTUS has extra-legal powers. This was in context to illegal wiretapping the Bush Administration was doing. That Kavanaugh is that guy, is good news for Trump who is clearly grasping at anything to cover his ass.

But Trump is also easily led by those around him, and despite his tantrums, easily handled by those around him. I'm sure this extra-legal idea Kavanaugh has for the POTUS was punched up when giving Trump a list of judges to choose from for the vacancy. He may have been the only guy on the list, but there's no way Trump had the brains to watch this guy 15-20 years ago.

No. Kavanaugh was handed to trump and packaged as a 'get out of jail free' card and Trump, being the sucker he is, jumped for it.

Kavanaugh is a solid Republican operative. The GOP and Kavanaugh's eyes are wide open on that. Look at how many establishment Republicans are willing to take the heat for this guy. There's a long queue of conservative judges they could go with, they could throw Kavanaugh out and pick someone else, but they aren't right now. Pride and loyalty are driving the party to stick to Kavanaugh even tho he gets more toxic by the minute.

6. Even if they still push him through he'll end up being removed
Wed Sep 26, 2018, 12:20 PM

and all he voted on will be erased. He won't be there long if he even makes it there. I doubt he'll make it there now. He'll never get enough votes , but those in close races in the Senate will suffer badly from their vote on this, so cruz and others are in deep , deep trouble if they vote for him.

15. The same way Ronan Farrow did? He tracked down Debbie Ramirez, she didn't come forward on her own.

Ronan Farrow is a pretty good journalist, but he doesn't have a magic wand nor more resources than the White House. I'm assuming he accomplished this by talking to a lot of people, asking a lot of questions, and following where their answers led.

Clearly FBI background checks are not the end all be all of a person's dirty secrets. Or maybe they are, but their contents are ignored by the White House when judged politically expedient.
