Kasie Hunt just now reported on MSNBC that yesterday McConnell didn't have 50 votes

Hunt is on Andrea Mitchel's show and reported on her conversations with senators today regarding today's allegations.

During her report she mentioned McConnell and how his strategy has been to say the votes are in the bag. But as of yesterday he didn't have them.

They need to make him drop out before tomorrow's hearing and before the vote. It's the only way a few repukes can save face.

I hope so, but clearly this is a coordinated play by the whole party to give Trump sweeping pardon power.

I'm learning not to take anything they say to the bank. Hunt didn't share who told her McConnell didn't have the votes. She wasn't pressed on it. So it's a "stay tuned" kind of thing.

Thanks!

That's tentatively scheduled for Friday, though McConnell can change that at whim. The 11 Republican Senators on the Judiciary Committee are almost certainly on board with recommending Judge Kreepazoid for the Supreme Court and urging confirmation by the full Senate.

Once the Committee recommends Kreepazoid's nomination to the full Senate (and even if it doesn't), the clock begins running to set a vote by the full Senate, which I think could happen as early as Tuesday next week if the Committee votes Friday.

McConnell's such a slimy shitweasel that he's capable of anything. He may have the votes necessary in the full Senate, he may not. The Committee might recommend that the full Senate confirm Kreepazoid's nomination or it may not. McConnell may schedule the vote knowing the Senate will fail to confirm, then blame the Democrats publicly for their underhanded ways, but privately let the White House know that they should have followed his advice in the first place, and this is what you get for crossing the Majority Leader.

Anyone who thinks they know how this plays out is playing a mug's game. Too many moving parts, too many competing constituencies.

The latter is getting huge amounts of heat about native Women being sexually assaulted more than anyone, including the recent case where the white guy kidnapped, strangled, and sexually molested a Native woman and walked out fo court free.

Collins will do whatever she is told to do.
