If Brett Kavanaugh is REALLY the wholesome, noble "choir boy" he says he is,

I would think he would withdraw his nomination for the sake of his wife and daughters, because this is ALL public, it's ALL on cable news, it's in ALL the papers, and details like these are OUT THERE. Available for all to see. INCLUDING his daughters. AND their friends and their friends' families. So it's very likely to come up in conversation on the playground and study hall and lunch period, and more.

One would think if this man is REALLY man enough, and chivalrous enough - as he loudly claims to be - his first thought would be to protect his wife and daughters, and take himself out of consideration to spare them this degrading new reality.

That he has not done so, and has gone in the opposite direction, insisting he's gonna fight this out and get on the Supreme Court, is VERY telling. Tells you volumes - indeed, whole LIBRARIES of stuff about him and his character. That he is SPECTACULARLY unfit to be seated on the high bench - where he would be in position to pass judgment in loads of new cases that involve a woman's right to privacy, choice, and justice.

What kind of a father would put his daughters through this ?

As if that means anything at all.

He keeps saying it though, as if going to a Catholic high school means he is of good character and could never be a rapist.

I know from personal experience. I went to a Catholic all-girls high school. We were routinely paired up with the Jesuit all-boys high school across town - for dances and other social events. There were two other boys Catholic schools that also got invited to our dances, but they were secondary to the Jesuit school. It was annoying. Even for a wallflower, who often waited til 11pm before being asked to dance. THAT IS NOTHING-NOTHING-NOTHING like an attempted or full-on rape. But even merely standing around as a reject for the whole night leaves a mark, too.

I'm just VERY lucky that was pretty much as bad as it got.

Also, I was in an elementary school that was part of a franchise. Unless you were hopeless in the grades department, or your dad hadn't made sure the nuns got a new car from your family's dealership every Christmas, you went from 8th grade straight into the upper school. I made it on grades. Pretty much all I did was study. Wasn't much to look at, so I didn't date much. But my report cards were absolutely sterling!

Host Katy Tur had to go back on the air and apologize for her guest’s comment. I didn’t get the guest’s name but she did utter it, while describing the outrageous and sexist “club” Kavanaugh and pals belonged to in school.
