Brett Kavanaugh is a mean and belligerent drunk.

He gets drunk and he turns into Mr. Hyde.

Chris Matthews put it well: He is nice all day at the office and after a couple of hours in a bar he turns into Mr. Hyde.

We should not even be discussing this nomination anymore.

And by the way, Sen. Whitehouse has an allegation of a 5th victim of a sexual assault that occurred on a boat in Rhode Island.

The last two are anonymous and i agree with Jeffrey Toobin that they can not be treated equally to the first 3.

I just re-read the book last year. Dr. Jekyll liked being Mr. Hyde. He repeatedly drank the potion because he enjoyed losing his inhibitions and doing all the stuff he really wanted to do without consequence.

He's mean all the time. He was okay with forcing a minor in custody to have a kid and all the accompanying risks because of his personal opinion. He's not an asshole when he's drunk, he's an asshole who gets worse when he drinks.

It just gets amplified when alcohol takes down the facade.

I remember those grain alcohol “punch” parties. In retrospect, I am lucky I survived it. However, I don’t remember hearing of any sexual attacks happening like Kavanaugh and Judge instigated.

These attacks were premeditated on their parts when they were sober.

People don't "turn into Mr Hyde" when they get drunk. To say that is to give drunks a pass on their behavior. More accurately, they are revealing their true personality that is often buried deep when they are sober.

If you don't believe me, check out a spouse or loved one of a drunk. Yes, there are "happy" drunks who don't get violent and abusive, but the people who live with them day to day and really know them can tell the difference after time.

If he's an asshole when he's drunk, he probably wants to be an asshole when he's not.
