Was today's press conference an example of "sundowning"?

If you've ever witnessed this in a loved one, you would know. It happenend to my father.

For me Trump's speech today was a stunning example, and for a moment I felt sorry for him.

3. He always sounds the same to me

People keep saying he gets worse and worse, but I just see the same thing over and over. He lies, he makes stuff up, he attacks, he says what his followers want to hear and he says it the way they like to hear it. If challenged, he gets even crazier. He's always been this way.

It's all a persona. But since he is a malignant narcissist, there is no human being underneath. It's just personas all the way down.

5. Thing is, though, wouldn't sundowning suggest that there are times when he is coherent?

Because he's never coherent.

I know that sounds like I'm being snarky, but I'm being dead serious.

Sundowning, or sundown syndrome, is a neurological phenomenon associated with increased confusion and restlessness in patients with delirium or some form of dementia. Most commonly associated with Alzheimer's disease, but also found in those with other forms of dementia, the term "sundowning" was coined due to the timing of the patient's confusion. For patients with sundowning syndrome, a multitude of behavioral problems begin to occur in the evening or while the sun is setting. Sundowning seems to occur more frequently during the middle stages of Alzheimer's disease and mixed dementia. Patients are generally able to understand that this behavioral pattern is abnormal.
