...we might do well to recall that Clarence Thomas never provided a bit of evidence to disprove Anita Hills claims. He just angrily played the victim and claimed innocence without providing any proof. And that was enough for Republican senators (and, sadly, a few Democrats). Once he had made his statements, it was as if Hill and her testimony never even existed.
I have no doubts that Kav will try playing the same outrage card, along with claiming the Democrats are staging a persecution. Will it work this time, too?

(129,096 posts)Grassley just put "sworn statements" from 3 of witnesses - including Judge - that they "don't remember" this party, into the record. This is why Blumenthal objected because there is (so far) no option to question Judge's veracity regarding that statement.

He now has the opportunity to walk in there & after conferring with attorneys & coaches, to know exactly what to say.
He will deny what she claims & dismiss her accusations.
'He said/she said' will be his presentation & that may be all he needs.
He isn't interested in convincing the public, the millions of viewers, he only has to give the Repubs on the committee a reason to say 'yes'
