If We Don't Take The Senate Easily Now, We Never Will

I really don't know what else there is left for this country. We are all truly deplorable. If the OUTRAGE is not there, and EVERY SINGLE PERSON who is disgusted by what is happening doesn't vote, we have no future.

I am Single in my 50's. I still care about what is left of this country to the next generation, and so on. But frankly, I'm close to giving up. I keep hearing how great this country is, but honestly, that is no longer true. Perhaps it's a happy memory from when we won WWII. Almost half the country is bent on creating a Dictatorship, and I frankly hope I'm not here when that truly comes to pass. I am not ready to leave right now though, and probably am running out of time.

I am convinced that the country that I choose to go into would instantly become economically and defense wise (wise defense spending, technologically advanced, effective stuff) that Putin would not want to remotely fuck with it.

Enemies on our direct borders. The economically poorer countries, the south, the daktoas, other areas would be gladly taking aid from foreign adversaries. We would end up weak and in an endless series of wars. Just like the Middle East.

My guess, we become a smaller, far more powerful Germany. We would believe in science, which would allow us to do things technologically that the right currently prevent. We believe in economic commonwealth, which will allow us to build a strong vibrant economy. Our biggest problem would be keeping rightwingers from migrating into our country from their totally screwed up country(ies). We would not believe in war first as a solution to hostility toward us, but we would not be by any stretch of the imagination a military pushover, on contrary, we would have such technologically advanced weapons that nothing could compete with them.

Seriously, the right and the evangelical right make me want to scream like a wild man often, getting rid of them short of killing them or something gross like that) would be sweet respite for me. Separating from them and going my way with like minded people would be idea.

Nevada, Texas and Arizona. A fourth may be Kansas and potentially a fifth in Mississippi (if the republican nut finishes in the top two with Epsy instead of the remotely sane republican).

Right now, the only Dem seat that is competitive is Heitkamp, Nelson looks to be pulling away from Scott. Last I saw Heitkamp was ahead.

I hope we win, but it isn't sure. And we have 25 I think Senators on the line including red state Democrats like the much maligned Manchin...who voted with us when the GOP failed to end the ACA...one vote would have made the difference. There is also Claire McCaskill and others. We are also vulnerable in Florida.

and we have a real fighting chance for the House in the midterms

While no doubt we will be screwed judicially for the next two years if we lose the Senate, if we take the House we can stop a lot of horrendous legislation from going through, and start investigating the abuse of power in the House

The one hope we have against the most extreme judges will be Roberts

Not comforting, but it is what it is

I have gotten the sense that full repeal is a bridge too far for him. I see him as a Chris Wallace type, conservative, but with limits, plus he has kids that are somewhere around young adulthood like Wallace.

People ignore the fact that the margins in state level races come down to local issues, both Heitkamp and Manchin have been attentive to the needs of locals. In WV now, a congressional seat is in play, if I remember the last poll, the Dem was leading.

80% chance the people take back the house

only 30% chance the people take the Senate but still a LOT of polling to go and so many undecideds to break. We NEED them to break our way.

The "most likely" scenario right now is we gain 1 seat and it is a 50/50 split

Right now that "flipped" seat is projected to be Nevada. In addition to defending ALL our incumbent seats (North Dakota is VERY close but leaning Dem), we need to flip one more. That other seat is most likely Tennessee or Texas (which i never thought would be dangerous for Cruz, but Beto is doing better than expected).

The senate is tough for us we have what 25 seats up...many in red states...and the GOP has 8...it will be great if we win, but it is not a slam dunk and in two years we face more favorable numbers. I hope we do take the Senate so as to shut down judges of any kind.
