We sit here this evening trying not to think about what life in this country will be like
IF the most obviously flawed and unfit SCOTUS nominee in our lifetime is confirmed. Nominated by the most obnoxious, mean-spirited and mentally I'll "POTUS" in our history and needing only the fawning approval of Republican senators whose only known talent is presidential ass-kissing, Brett Kavanaugh was nonetheless "on the ropes" after his initial accuser, Dr. Blasey-Ford, detailed her accusation this morning.
After four hours of her clear, compelling and totally credible sworn testimony, there were few senators who were willing to say they did not believe her---at least not in public. But, in the afternoon, Kavanaugh, apparently having asked himself "What Would Donald Do?", launched a snarling attack on the Judicial Committee in general and Democrats in particular. Unwilling to confront his soft-spoken and believable accuser, he instead filled his responses with repetitive boasts about his good grades, his high school football career, how often he went to church and how diligently he recorded EVERYTHING that occurred in his life in calendars which, of course, he still possesses.
And, so, here we are. DAMN IT! ELECTIONS DO HAVE CONSEQUENCES!
I don't give a rat's ass if you wrote in Bernie, voted for Stein, stayed home or "pulled a Sarandon" and voted for Trump so as to hasten the "revolution", if you did not support and vote for OUR unquestionably qualified candidate, Hillary Clinton, tonight's anxiety is on you. Don't even start with that "she ran a bad campaign" bullshit, ok? She got nearly three million more votes DESPITE gerrymandering, voter suppression and PUTIN'S INTERVENTION.
Elections.Have.Consequences. WE---have to unite to win or there will be many more sleepless nights while a ruthless minority imposes their "values" on us, our kids and our grandkids.
