Seriously! Who the fuck would save a calendar like that unless they were waiting for the day they could use it to exonerate them-self? I bet he woke up the next day sober and was thinking "Holy fuck! What if she tells her Dad, what if this comes up a few months from now once she gets the courage to do something? I better come up with something that will make me look innocent. I know! I can put keep my calendar and write in similar shit and not put that gathering in!"
Then of course he decided to hold onto it long after knowing in the back of his mind he might need it one day. He probably had a few things on there and then went back and wrote in a few other things and omitted of course on purpose a tiny get together with four people that was probably a spur of the moment thing. I remember probably 75% of the parties I went to back in HS and college were gatherings that just popped up that day.
To me this calendar makes him look much more guilty than if he hadn't saved it.

(7,724 posts)I don't think my parents saved stuff like that. It's my way of hanging on to time, maybe? I don't know how to explain it.

On this, I can connect with Kav.

(768 posts)He might have developed a vision of himself becoming a great success and the calendars would help him write his memoirs.
Someone here at DU pointed out that the party on July 1 could have been the date of the assault because of the relationship to Mark Judges job where Dr. Ford ran into him at the grocery store. Judge described the job in his book which was consistent with Dr. Fords testimony. Rachel Mitchell started to ask him about that date but did not pursue it.

(8,710 posts)"Columbia" - is the name of the country club & pool (Columbia Country Club) where Dr. Ford said she spend most days in the summer. She said she went to the gathering after swimming at the pool. Sounds like it might be a day that Kavanaugh was at the pool too according to his calendar. She said it was early and when she went to the house, she assumed there would be a party later. He has nothing listed for mid day July 7. Dr. Ford said it happened in an unsupervised house near Columbia Country Club.

(1,148 posts)We're normal empathetic folk ; we can easily imagine how the victim feels. But it may help to think with the mind of a criminal - he's been carrying around this thing he did all of these years. Perhaps he looks at it and tells himself lies about what happened that summer.
