they couldn't find someone who isn't accused of multiple violent felonies by multiple victims?

they make the same insanely partisan arguments for supporting kavanaugh that they make about supporting donnie.

if kavanaugh is voted down, donnie will just name some other hyper-partisan right-wing asshole, but probably one who doesn't have these accusations. they managed to find gorsuch, who, as far as we know, hasn't tried to rape anyone.

so republicans who *still* support kavanaugh aren't really doing it purely out of a desire to lock up the supreme court for decades, *because that will happen anyway with whoever donnie nominated in his place*.

same logic for those still supporting donnie. republicans don't need *donnie* in particular to sign more tax cuts or to nominate hard right justices, because pence would do that anyway.

so anyone supporting kavanaugh, or anyone supporting donnie, does so because they fully endorse all that crap they stand for.

the "purely on partisanship" argument might have worked when republicans voted for donnie when the alternative was clinton, but "purely on partisanship" doesn't work when the alternative is another person from the same party/ideology.

so to hell with anyone who supports kavanaugh.

if they do, they're supporting violence against women.

As I posted the other day, if the had nominated a fanatic in the vein of Santorum or Cruz or Carson, that fanatic might do his own thing.

But a corrupt partisan like Kavanaugh can be trusted to always put party over country.

the accusations against thomas seem quaint in comparison, and alito and roberts and gorsuch haven't been accused, afaik (though it wouldn't surprise me if they were).

he's *not* the only hyper-partisan loyalist who believes in a tyrannical presidency (as long as it's held by a republican).

exactly why we have 45 as POTUS.

They have been tweaked up so much after decades of skull fucking by conservative propaganda, they have almost no connection to reality to begin with, but all it takes is one actual, perceived or completely ginned up action that they view as being liberals having an opinion and they will completely detach from reason in an unhinged rage to fight for it - you see it time after time after time - George Zimmerman, 45, now this POS.

If the GOP put forward a declaration that every American parent had to throw their children in volcano, the moment that one single non-conservative questioned it, they would go to the streets demanding that every american complies with it (except them, of course).

7. The problem isn't that they couldn't find someone with Kavanaugh's odious opinions

That doesn't have sexual assault problems.

The first problem is that they literally don't believe the allegations. Look at how people here who continue to believe there was a conspiracy involving 8 separate women against Franken act. It's not that different than Republicans. And before you point to the call for a Senate Ethics Committee investigation, that particular body gave no punishments other than 6 don't do that again letters over a 9 year period.

The other problem is time. Both in that the new term starts in October, but also before the mid terms and possibly losing their majority. They are worried if they don't get Kavanaugh, there isn't time to get anybody.

they've done similar things themselves, or have buddies who have.

they believe that things they see as simply clowning around when you're in high school or college shouldn't derail their career and so it shouldn't derail the career of any other republican.

of course, they'd put on a big show of outraged if a democrat was accused of a fraction of such things....
