Ditto for Sens. Hirono, Booker & Blumenthal.

Senators Klobuchar & Whitehouse have given powerful speeches. Sens. Durban, Feinstein, Leahy, Coons as well. Perhaps those speeches will sway Collins or Murkowski or other concientious Republicans to vote no on Kavanaugh. Perhaps not. Perhaps one of those speeches will sway some voters to register and/or vote for Dems going forward. At the very least the speeches will go into the historical record. Even if today is a losing battle, you don't give up the wider struggle.

Those Senators just gave up. I certainly won't be supporting any of these four in the 2020 primaries.

2. And THAT's why you don't leave a meeting early in protest

Blumenthal came back and talks as well so that's a further upate to my original post.

Anyway: As I'm sure you all know. Flake endorsed a short FBI investigation before a floor vote on Kavanaugh. It's being reported that Sen. Coon's speech is the one that was pivotal to Sen. Flake. You never know when you're going to change a mind.
