His little hand-holding with Michele, his paintings and smiley face...lot of sanitizing going on since he left office but the real W came back out with his calls in favor of Judge Abuser. He is as he always was and compassion has nothing to do with it.

Michelle has more restraint that I do..

(1,483 posts)It goes past civiility. She is not being civil when she has Sears Family Portraits taken with him with her arms wrapped around him lovingly. They sit together and gossip every public event posslible and clearly like each other.
I think half of the equation is political expediency and the other half is that she likes his bitchy sense of humor.
It makes me love her a bit less though. Ngl.

(28,136 posts)W is responsible for far more innocent people being killed than he ever was.

Yeah, W is a piece of shit. I'd spit on him if I ever saw him in person, but Michelle Obama is under constant scrutiny and is also, as I said, a warm and decent person, far more than I am...well, far more than I am now, I was different before the last election.

(6,855 posts)She probably sees this messed up person in front of her. Everyone who has ever met him says that he is much warmer in person and very engaging. Tony Blair: I just like the guy. ( His pathetic reason for going to war). Hell, even Hillary was moved when he said tell me what you need after 9/11.
Glad Ive never gotten close. Hes still a war monger to me.

(15,540 posts)Let's not forget he is in the same class as Kavanaugh - the elite, white, frat boy class. An admitted alcoholic, now a dry drunk.
I'll cut him no slack whatsoever just because the bar has been lowered so far with Trump.

There is a lot I would look past when confirming a hard left 53yo jurist for the SC.

The closest thing to a pass I will give W is that I am glad he is sniffing paint fumes and not President.

(2,272 posts)He was fine using his privileged status to avoid the draft and never complete his National Guard service,
he was fine with all the dirty tricks done to help him get elected,
he was fine with Bush vs. Gore Supreme Court decision,
he was fine with unprecedented tax cuts for the wealthy while running up the national debt,
he was fine with lying to the American people as justification to invade another country,
he was fine having sleazebags like Karl Rove and Brett Kavanaugh do his dirty work for him so he could look like the nice guy.
Now he wants to pretend all the above never happened.
I always liked his father, GW, more than him. He has always seemed more genuine and honest than his son (and he fought for his country when called).

He's a war criminal and another "legacy" self-absorbed narcissistic jerk with daddy issues (remember the socks with the presidential seal on them? and never making a mistake? and the thing he was going to miss the most was AF1?). He's may be less extreme and less obvious but he's also responsible for--so far--the deaths of many, many more people.
