On Whitehouse's commenting on the July 1st calendar entry:
"There are a total of 7 boys named and she said there were 4 boys."
Is Grassley too dumb to entertain the thought that people could have come to the gathering after Dr. Ford ran out of the house after having been sexually assaulted?
I am so tired.

(409 posts)Dr. Ford also stated that the parties usually start later than she was allowed to be out, and that she expected that more people would be showing up later that night. So there being more people on the July 1st entry than Dr. Ford named still fits just fine with what she's stated.

What's interesting though is he still feels the need to justify short-circuiting this process.

They hid important information. That was their first error. They have a majority so they could have put Kavanaugh in anyway.
The lack of other information gave rise to the sexual allegations.
Kavanaugh could have gotten around those, at least somewhat. He could have embraced the allegations. He could have talked about the hell of being a teenager in our bizarre culture where you have to be a bigger badass than the next guy just to fit in. He could have apologized. He could have said that he didn't mean any harm and that he didn't understand the terrible consequences to the victim (research is still evolving on this). He could have said the wished he could make this victim whole. We've all been young and stupid. People understand that and all of it would be true.
He then could have talked about leading a life of redemption since those days.
Instead Kavanaugh took the trump doctrine to heart. Deny, deny, deny. Bluster, bluster, bluster.
If he gets on the Court, he'll be damaged goods. He may even get impeached.
The republicans, like those teenaged boys, don't understand the harm they've done.
