Graham yesterday vs. Dems yesterday: Aggression vs. timidity at THE key moment!

I am not positing that overall, the Democrats were timid. In fact, they were, in an overall sense, aggressive.

However, the one moment that radically changed the calculus yesterday was Graham's utterly vile, invective filled rant that had a lot of personally abusive ammunition aimed at Democrats.

Yes, that changed everything. And what did our Democrats do to counter that obnoxious, vile rant? They continued on in the same vein as they had prior to Graham's stunning attack!

Did one of them go after Graham in a similar way that he had attacked them? NO! I won't list all the ammunition they could have used on him. We all know every bit of it. It is a massive list. They could have hit him back at least as hard as he attacked them, but they didn't. I mean, he really let loose on them, but they did not reciprocate.

We had things going our way, but Graham changed it all. So here we are: A GOP packed court that will take away the right to choose, will take away the rule of law and allow Trump to break laws at will without penalty, and will end our right to privacy (Griswold case), leading to so much far right wing intrusion into our lives, including taking away the right to use contraceptives and so much more.

And why? We got outfought again! When will we learn?

No matter what happened yesterday, we would be in the exact same place today.

There was nothing more the Democrats could have done, even though some here want us to believe they did not do a good job. This was a done deal from day one, and the outcome was the same, get Kavanaugh on the bench at all costs. They didn't care if they lost the House, and possibly the Senate, their only goal was to put Kavanaugh in to protect trump and to make sure they had control of the court for decades to come.

I get so tired of hearing all the nay sayers who post how the Dems could have done more.

Graham changed everything yesterday, and we did nothing in response!

We had it going our way and he changed it all. If we had a Graham style attack on Graham, the effects of Graham's rant could have been largely neutralized. But no......and those effects were strong. The result was that Graham's unanswered attack gave squishy Republicans and Democrats running in Trump states an excuse to give in!

We could have gone after him in so many ways. And look at the actions of McConnell over the last few years. He has kicked our butts! Why? We use the Marquess of Queensberry rules, while they bring knives, brass knuckles, guns.....you name it!
