I do not trust Flake one iota and this is merely to make him look good.

The ship has already sailed for any of the other old farts to come off looking good.

Oh, and let's not forget that he first has to ask permission from The Orange Blob.

They conferred last night so maybe they can't vote without it and he's the ONLY one who would call for the investigation.

It may end up being a continuation of the shit show but who knows.

This was a formal on the record requirement for his eventual floor vote, or impliedly so. He indicated he's been consulting with other Senators as well, so it's safe to assume the other undecided moderates feel the same way.
