Jeff Flake isn't so much a hero as he is the last man standing.

Flake mentioned that he was speaking to democrats and members of his own party. He stated that many had reservations about advancing Kavenaugh to the full senate. It was obvious at that point that Grassley didn't have the votes. That means McConnell likely doesn't have the votes either until Kavenaugh's accusers are investigated, albeit on a cursory level.

Flake was chosen by his senate peers to call for this FBI investigation because he's the only republican on committee with nothing to lose. Trump can blow his top over this, but he can't touch Jeff Flake.

I predict Mark Judge's memory will improve when he has to talk to FBI agents. He will exclude himself of course, but no wingman will risk his freedom by lying to the feds. Pick someone else Trump.

I call that heroic. I don’t care he has an R after his name.

Flake will get. I'm sure some of the senators are scared of what the deplorables will do. There are a lot of unhinged in the deplorable Trump army that might be uncontrollably angry or feel they are doing their supreme leader a favor by killing or taking out the obstacles.

He’s disappointed people before, but he’s doing the right thing now, at great potential loss to himself. Good for him.

he might be giving cover to the people who agree and are running for reelection. Since he is not, he can take the heat with no real cost in the November election. Don't know about that, but it was suggested.
