I am thinking that he might have so many problems in his life that he would not be willing to lie for Kavanaugh -- not willing to add a perjury charge to lying to the FBI to all that he has going on.

There has to be some damn reason that the other side wanted no part of him being involved. Also: Good on the July 1st info -- that could be hard for Judge to deny since it came from Kavanaugh. Hopefully if Judge is in AA and is working on his sobriety, he will honor the AA goals. Might be the reason he wants confidentiality -- knows he has to tell the truth and does not want his buddy Brett to know what he has revealed.

this and this actually did happen - how can people not know it was Judge who provided the information?

WTF does talking with the FBI "confidentially" even mean in this case?

That he won't be named even though everyone will know it's him?

That he'll talk to the FBI only if the FBI agrees to not act on the information? I'll tell the truth but you can't tell anyone else? Then what's the point of an FBI investigation?

Judge will probably continue to lie but even then, who won't know where the lies are coming from?

Does he want immunity? Yeah, we sexually assaulted her but I want immunity for telling on Kavanaugh?

Because that's not confidentiality, that's immunity.

To tell something confidentially means to tell something that is to remain a secret. That's the understanding between parties when they speak "confidentially" .

So, what am I missing?

Kavanaugh friend Mark Judge: 'I will cooperate' with FBI probe of sex assault claims

A lawyer for Mark Judge, the high school buddy of embattled Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, told CNBC that Judge "will answer any and all questions posed to him" by the FBI about serious sexual assault allegations against Kavanaugh.

The cooperation offer came on the heels of several Senators asking for Kavanaugh's final confirmation vote to be delayed until after the FBI has a chance to investigate claims that he tried to rape a 15-year-old high school girl in the early 1980s.

" If the FBI or any law enforcement agency requests Mr. Judge's cooperation, he will answer any and all questions posed to him," Judge's lawyer Barbara Van Gelder told CNBC in an email.
