Just overheard one side of a phone conversation in a store. It was right after my husband called

me to tell me of the new developments in the Kavanaugh nomination. She said, “I just heard. Yes I saw her. She made me so sick to my stomach I wanted to throw up. Still do. She is disgusting.” There was such venom in her voice. It’s amazing to me how cold and heartless some people can be to a victim. You’d at least think women would have a little more sensitivity to sexual abuse claims since almost all of us have experienced it in one form or another. A few minutes later, I had the bright idea of having my own pretend phone conversation near her and it would be very different from hers. But I couldn’t find her. Wish I could think faster on my feet.

How do you know what she was talking about? Maybe she was talking about her mother-in-law, or something totally unrelated to any of this.

When someone decides to call you at that time and your phone rings in the midst of your "conversation", it can be rather embarrassing.
