Manchin, of course, is a Democrat. If all the Democratic senators will vote NO, we still only have 49 to their 51.
At least, yesterday there were reports that they all went to Collins "Hideaway" (really, what is it?)

His constituents expect a yes vote; unless he has coverage to vote no, he was likely to vote yes.

I can not begin to imagine that that support has held, so Manchin surely knows better. Not to mention the fact that, depending on how the questions were asked, those voting in support of kavanaugh might well be in support of any similar SCOTUS nominee and not Kav specifically.
