Why would he be delaying the cloture vote?

Better yet, why is there even a cloture vote? Doesn't that mean that a 60-vote threshold is required, which should have already been eliminated since Republicans eliminated the ability to filibuster Supreme Court nominations with Gorsuch?

Are they just trying to avoid having a vote -- any vote -- on the full Senate floor, on the record, at this time?

It is no longer a 60-vote requirement, however--since Gorsuch.

like Trump firing any FBI agents that come up with stuff he doesn't like. They know Trump has no problems firing long time FBI agents.
