General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI'm watching MSNBC programs which, as usual, feature women guests
and panelists, all of whom are intensely and very appropriately critical of Kavanaugh and the GOP Senators, and how women have been so often treated as less-than. And while the men are dressed as professionals, wearing suit jackets and (usually) ties, the women are wearing sleeveless dresses showing plenty of cleavage. WTF? It seems like such a visual oxymoron, and is one of my pet peeves about cable news programs. Am I making too much of this?

(34,456 posts)One put it as "why are they wearing cocktail dresses at work"?
I have heard some who disagree but I think they are in the minority, and all certainly agree that if the job demands that men wear suits, women should also.

Far too many tv-people (female) look like they ducked out of a cocktail party or a date.
It's always refreshing to watch BBC/DW/France 24 or CNN-I..

(32,002 posts)Been noticing this for a long time, wtf is with women broadcasters and the sleeveless cocktail dresses? Alongside a man in a suit and tie. It looks very unprofessional to me and quite sexist. They even dress this way on my small market local news stations.
And don't get me started on the female analysts on ESPN ....
