If I told you there were lies in politics, it would probably shock you about as much as if I told you there’s water in the ocean.

This campaign season, however, we’re seeing something more extreme — falsehoods in nine of the nine Rick Scott ads vetted by the Pulitizer Prize-winning fact-checkers at Politifact.

Yes, nine out of nine.

It’s almost impressive, yet hardly surprising, as Scott has used lies to distract from his own record every step of his political career.

Just ask Bill McCollum.

Now, Scott wants to serve in another office. He has set his sites on the U.S. Senate — with a new set of lies aimed at incumbent Bill Nelson about everything from the environment to partisanship.

“Lies” isn’t a word I use casually. But when one of the most acclaimed fact-checking services in America labels nine ads “False,” “Mostly false” or “Pants on Fire,” what would you call it?

Now, it’s worth noting that Politifact doesn’t vet every ad. When candidates make straightforward claims, there’s not much need for vetting. And obviously, Scott isn’t the only politician fudging facts.

Politifact has called out fibs from Democrat Andrew Gillum, Republican Ron DeSantis — and, yes, even Nelson, finding falsehoods in four of the nine ads it vetted from Nelson and his backers.

But Scott stands out because he and his supporters’ ads wield untruths with such relentless consistency (nine-for-nine and the only full-on “Pants on Fire” lies) — and because of the devilishly ingenious way he uses them to mask his own weaknesses.

lying is part of their creed and mode of operation.

It's sad, mainly because the lies impact ALL of us, e.g., how good the economy is, how good their so called admin. is, how good they cut the state debt levels, etc.

All kinds of nonsense answers to serious questions. We need truly people who aren't above telling the truth like it is. If we don't persist in demanding accountable answers to our questions (when you finally get them into a room where they can't run away), we hurt ourselves as well as the rest of us, since the true answers impact ALL of us.

We all know this. They obviously don't (or do, and are ignoring the real answers in order to propagate their long term exposure/duration in the legislative houses).

We've all noticed rump's political rallies and the nonsense that he continues to spew. One day, it'll bite him in the a** so hard it'll bleed, and it won't stop bleeding. It's only a matter of time.
