Lindsey Graham is a vile POS. He tweeted this at 5:21 today.

I'm speechless.

I’ve never felt better about the Supreme Court nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh than I do right now.

Having said that, I respect my colleagues who have requested the supplemental FBI investigation, which will be limited in scope and time.

It can be done quickly and then we will be able to move forward to an up-or-down vote in the Senate next week.

But in his home state he has to keep it quiet. This guy had a military career during the "don't ask don't tell" years. You'd think he would be better disposed towards the Democratic Party because of that. He's such a nasty little shit.

Underage boys, probably, with Russian video to boot.

Only that kind of kompromat could so sharply snap a guy from one of Trump's only Republican critics to his biggest ass-kisser ever.

I do know that people don't fundamentally change the essence of who they are. But he'd kept it closeted just like his reputed sexuality during the life of his presumed friend. I don't know what's happened recently that has led him to abandon all semblance of human dignity and compassion, but clearly something or someone has. Indisputably.

No one – not you, not Sarah Sanders, not Donald Trump, not Charles Grassley, and not anyone else – tells the FBI how to do an investigation and how long the investigation must take. The FBI is not your personal political handmaiden. It is an independent agency that prides itself on its independence. It will investigate Brett Kavanaugh with the depth and scope that it sees fit, and in the time frame that it believes is required.

Frankly, I hope the FBI completely re-opens all of its background investigations into Kavanaugh, just as it has re-opened investigations into numerous other Trump nominees. I hope it focuses in particular on Kavanaugh's gambling and especially his unexplained finances: how he lived like he did on the salary that he makes, who mysteriously paid off his substantial debts and why, and what they expected in return, what he promised them, and what caused those debts to run up in the first place – because it sure as heck was not baseball tickets. If Kavanaugh has an unexplained or unknown substance abuse problem that requires a lot of money, or other personal failings that are ongoing expenses to him, I hope the FBI overturns every single stone to find the answers. The last thing America needs is a Supreme Court Justice who is subject to blackmail or who is financially obligated to other people (or, God forbid, other nations).

And the foregoing things do not even begin to address Kavanaugh's numerous prevarications, some of which he seems to have made under oath.

The question is not whether Kavanaugh is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt of any crime. The issue is whether he has told all of the truth, both under oath before the Senate and in all of his submission papers, and whether he is in fact the best-qualified person for this position.

I hope in their same investigation, the FBI will discover the identities of all the people who have made death threats toward Dr. Ford and her family, the other women accusers, and now toward the republican senators who are calling for an FBI investigation (after Ann Coulter was dumb enough to tweet her prediction of death threats toward them). A proper investigation might take months, but it for sure will not conclude in 5 working days. SMH at the impudence, arrogance, and self-entitlement of the republican party.
