Riveting stuff about Flake, especially new footage with the camera on Flake the whole time Coons was speaking.

(2,315 posts)Because of his own experience, I've always enjoyed Lawrence the most when he so clearly explains the inner workings and interpersonal relations of Washington.
Perhaps that is why I think The West Wing was one of the best series on TV.

(51,615 posts)I had been listening to the Dems speeches and when the GOP spoke I muted them. I used that time to call the Dem senators' local offices to thank them for their work. I couldn't figure out why Harris and Hirono were outside and not doing statements like the rest were. When I saw Coons speak in the hall later he looked like he was very emotional too. What a rough day.

(20,002 posts)Coons specifically said he would not participate in a left wing conspiracy to smear a nominee. I thought that was what convinced his friend Flake. Kavboy, Lindsey Graham, and other Republicans have been crying "left wing conspiracy!" Coons sincerely refuted it and I think Flake believed his friend. Trust between friends.
