Laura Ingraham: This will be the year of the man, because enough is enough.

https://www.mediamatters.org/video/2018/09/28/laura-ingraham-i-think-it-could-easily-well-turn-out-be-year-man-after-kavanaugh-hearings/221500

And I don't think that the whole year of the woman thing, I wonder if they haven't bit off more than they can chew on that. Because I think it could easily as well turn out to be the year of the man who feel like the target is on their back all the time, and it is not fair to just make one allegation and say your life should be turned upside down. I don't think that's fair to victims, and I don't think that's fair to the accused.

Now I'm confused. Laura Ingraham says that men are the true victims here. But Tucker Carlson says that white people are the true victims here.

Which one is it?

I know we talk a lot on the board about the value of our older representatives. (They have value . And I'm not young, myself!

But the energy to defeat these old ideas, and some of these old folks, will come - imo - from the 'next' generation. The young adults I talk to are aghast. They can't believe this crap.

The blue wave that comes, will be swept by the energy and excitement of the next generation. They're here and they're ready

That blue wave will be led by ALL those demographics, and the marches, call banking, knocking on doors have demonstrated that. In fact in some of those events I witnessed more older age groups.

With the assistance of the lies and con job of the Jill Steins, Susan Sarandons, etc. they conned just enough naive folks to believe the false equivalency and lies that there was no difference between the Democratic party and the republicans

In those critical swing states in 2016 the Democratic nominee lost by less than 1%, while Jill Stein received 1% of the vote.

In those same critical swings every Democrat running for Senate lost to the establishment, incumbent, republican, and those Democrats were progressive by any standard.

In 2016, 47% didn't even bother to vote

Every day. They’re so used to being privileged they don’t even realize it.
Once when I was a kid, after Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, I asked Mom why there is no Children’s Day, and of course her response was “every day is Children’s Day.” And every single day is Men’s Day.

Is she an upset white man? Is she tired of women trying to be heard? Does she think she should be at home doing housework? Is she a self loathing person feeling ashamed and unworthy of her success? Or was she lamenting what she thought might be a backlash?

The patriarchy has no intention of releasing or even loosening it's iron grip on control. Partisan hacks like Ingram, a Kavanaugh crony, don't have a clue, nor want one.

Lindsey Graham, Brett Kavanaugh, and the unleashing of white male backlash
“I’m a single white male from South Carolina, and I’m told I should just shut up, but I will not shut up.”
By Zack Beauchamp@zackbeauchampzack@vox.com Sep 28, 2018, 12:20pm EDT

The specific language that he used — “I’m a single white male from South Carolina, and I’m told I’m just supposed to shut up” — is a direct reference to one of the core arguments used by feminists and social justice activists: that white men in positions of privilege don’t have direct experiences with hostile sexism or racism, and should listen to the people who have.

Graham is saying he cannot, and will not, listen: He will vote for Kavanaugh regardless of what Ford said, and will defend him in the face of any criticism about the gender and power dynamics at work.

“I will not shut up” is a perfect mantra for Trumpian backlash politics. There is no risk that white men are, en masse, going to be silenced: They occupy the commanding heights of power in every walk of American life. The demands that they be quiet at times are a response to the overrepresentation of their voices, that they understand what life is like for more vulnerable people and then change the way they act accordingly.

But Graham is not willing to give even that little ground. His rage on this point, one shared by Trump’s base, has been palpable throughout this process. During Thursday’s hearing, he interrupted Rachel Mitchell, the sex crimes prosecutor that Republicans had deputized to ask questions during the hearing, to deliver a furious rant in defense of Kavanaugh.

“To my Republican colleagues, if you vote no, you’re legitimizing the most despicable thing I have seen in my time in politics,” Graham said during Thursday’s hearing.

People who gravitate toward the right always think they’re the exception, the correct, the better. That they’re not subject to the things others are. Why help “them” out? And they always find out different.
