3. Blaming the victim

The conversation he supposedly overheard between the two girls is also blaming the victim by way of distancing themselves from the victim. Setting themselves apart, somehow - anyway they can - that allows the false comfort of thinking you're safe because of
- whatever excuses you can come up with...

I know better. (because nothing ever alters a teen's judgment - not peers, not booze, not drugs, not anything)
I'm a good girl. (because rape only happens to bad girls)
I'd never do this or I'd never do that. (knowing full well they have done that but denying it feels so much safer)

A lot of denial and wishful thinking.

They'd get the same level of rape prevention by knocking on wood.

Dispelling the myths about rape coupled with awareness, rape prevention and risk reduction classes should be part of the curriculum in middle schools and high schools.

Oh, it won't happen - because of ignorance and sexism....and denial and magical/ wishful thinking.

it's obvious that this guy is trying to score political points in trying to defend women while at the same time restricting them in what they should or should not do.

In a way, it's worse than what you suggest.

13. I can't imagine a female writing this. If that is where the bathroom is, that is where one goes.

Few teenage girls would take the "use the outside as a bathroom" option - and that would be even less safe.

Not surprised he deleted the tweet. He seems to be on a self-destructive/revealing roll of awful tweets in the wake of the hearings, doesn't he?
