Kerry Berchem suggests that Kavanaugh may have anticipated Deborah Ramirez's allegations as early as July.
Kerry Berchem is a Yale graduate who was friends with Brett Kavanaugh and Deborah Ramirez in college. She claims that Kavanaugh and his team have been trying to get other Yale friends to support him against allegations made by Ramirez that Kavanaugh drunkenly flashed her while at Yale.
She has texts from another friend at Yale, suggesting Kavanaugh personally contacted the friend about Ramirezs allegations. From NBC News
<snip>
What we do know is that its grossly inappropriate for a sitting federal judge and nominee for the Supreme Court to be personally contacting people and trying to get them to go on the record to discredit allegations. We do know that if he knew about Ramirezs allegations before they were published in the New Yorker, thats another lie he told under oath to the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Its only Monday. Four more business days before the F.B.I. meets it artificially imposed investigation deadline.

(26,319 posts)as not an issue that would impede someone from being appointed to a SCOTUS position decades later but trying to get friends to help you make it out as the person making the claim as being a liar is clearly unethical and thus it makes him unfit to be a SCOTUS judge.

(22,671 posts)Fairly elementary my dear Watson.
If you were to be nominated to a high profile position, to be question in the senate, you might anticipate all the shady disgusting things you did in your past that might come up.

(75 posts)THIS is the guy who wrote the Kenneth Starr report, and who developed a list of detailed, tawdry questions for Starr and his prosecutors to use while examining President Clinton under oath about consensual sex, so that Clinton could be impeached. He and his friends are the same circle who, over twenty years ago, tried to destroy both Clintons, and most of them have been attacking them in all the years since. They also tried to destroy Vince Foster's family after Foster committed suicide, forcing Starr to reopen the investigation at a cost of millions and finding nothing.
This whole scenario (Kavanaugh's goose being permanently cooked, in public, by his own hand) is the epitomy of karma, and the shadenfraude is riveting the nation's attention. Soon Trump will decide that all this is making Trump look bad, causing the president to blame everyone but himself for the selection, and that will create yet another fast-buzzing news cycle. Without women, without social media, without citizen journalists, this investigation could not be proceeding the way it is and the public might never know who this candidate really is. After living a lifetime of fraud, he should now be permanently embarassed to ever again stick his head out of his own front door. The entire GOP may be drinking themselves into a blackout by the time the week is over.
And despite all the tawdriness we see today, we haven't begun to do a thorough document search on this person, because he and his promoters are deliberately keeping the contents of around 100,000 documents about and written by himself a secret. Keep digging, everyone.
