It seems to swing from left to right about every 2 years and the state level. What really surprised me, is at how the local level mayors and other leaders do not deny climate change or any of its repercussions. The mayor of Miami and other coastal communities know full well about the rising tides, beach erosion, and what is called, "High Tide Flooding". It goes without saying that the increased temperatures are a factor when dealing with these red tides. As will be the increasingly stronger hurricanes that may make landfall there.

Is enough reason to never vote for the guy, and bring 10 other voters with you on election day.

His tentacles into the medical field and some of his legislation deserve him a trip to jail.

Jeb Bush 1999-2007
Charlie Crist 2007 - 2011
Rick Scott 2011 - 2019

PRIOR to that t was a pretty much a Blue state as far as governors went.

Hit TRick Scott on this? Yesterday I saw on the news that testing were being done in Broward and Miami for suspected red tide. Palm beach has already been confirmed, yet I have not seen one ad about this. C'mon Dems, Fl is known for our beaches. The environmental and financial impact of this needs to be drummed in our ears from now till election day. Scott should not have a chance in Florida!

And in their debate on Tuesday Nelson went after pRick Scott for his handling of Blue-Green Algae and the Red Tide issue.

Algae issue. I've seen 3 ads from Nelson and none has mentioned this. I didn't watch the debate.

are going to be heavily dependent on what polls, focus groups, etc., suggest will persuade the voting blocs being targeted.

Ad campaigns should not be interpreted as strongly indicative of what a candidate or party thinks is important. And assuming lack of ads about a subject means lack of caring is Dunning-Kruger off the leash.

After all, every campaign spent one place is a lost opportunity to spend it elsewhere.

And WHY don't these people ever blame feckless citizens instead of the campaigners who lie awake night after night and lose their hair decades prematurely trying to get potential voters to notice and care?

ONE out of 5 young people voted in 2016. Remember that. They. were. courted. Most. scarcely. noticed! And couldn't be bothered to spit back. Though if you found some of those, actually walked right up to them so it didn't require any effort on their part, and flattered them by asking their views, most were happy to oblige with some ignorant badmouthing, usually regurgitation of right-wing agitprop aimed at them.

An unusually persistent harmful algal bloom (red tide) is currently affecting portions of the coasts of Florida. It has persisted on the southwest coast since October 2017 and, more recently, spread to the Panhandle and the east coast of Florida.

Gulf stream brings it to the Atlantic Ocean. I heard on the news yesterday that it doesn't usually last long in the Atlantic side.

It's even worse on the lower west coast Naples to Sarasota. The east coast had the blue/green algae in the Indian River lagoon from Lake Okeechobee releases.

Then two days ago Palm Beach county beaches found the red tide organism in the water.

Republican anti-environmental policies have led to ocean pollution that is destroying the billion dollar tourist business. When it hits them in the pocketbook, people might revise their political thinking.
