...Unfortunately, you are probably going to lose in November. Your Democratic seat is the most vulnerable. YOU CAN do the right thing on the way out the door: VOTE AGAINST KAVANAUGH! Stick it to tRump* and the Rethuglicans* one last time.

(20,998 posts)...Agree, hate to lose ANY Dem seats in Congress, and especially the Senate. However, Senator Heitkamp will probably lose, and I sincerely hope she DOES NOT VOTE for Kavanaugh because she may think it could help her chances to hold that seat. It won't.

(30,613 posts)She'd never be accepted as a Russiapublican, regardless. But if she votes for Kavanaugh, she'll be a pariah; neither party would ever accept her.

(20,998 posts)...he's going to need to appeal to a wider range of voters and going to need to clean the tRump* stink off his hands. Voting NO on Kavanaugh is a good start.

(4,532 posts)I guess honest cowardice is better than dishonest.
Well, the question will really be - who sorta gives up and gets too complacent or discouraged to bother voting. The "meh, both the same/meh, what difference does it make/meh, what's the point" crowd. We unfortunately seem to have an overabundance of voters in that category, much more than the CONS do. It'll depend on whether most of THAT crowd gets amped up and ready to take a stand, or shrugs, gives up and goes home.

(20,998 posts)...in this morning's polls, she is down 11 points. Simply voting for Kavanaugh will not bring her to parity. Not going to happen. Heitkamp voting to confirm Kavanaugh is acquiescing to the inevitable and licking a few Rethugliboots on the way out the back door.

(97 posts)But has ANYONE checked out her opponent. Holy hell that guy is a real piece of work. It's amazing she has won anything in that state.
Keitkamp has "looked out" for the oil and gas industry there. She's a moderate and I have to say we need moderates. I just don't want all the moderates being Republicans in blue states. It will be nice to pick up some Dem moderates in Red States...Tenn, Ind, Tex, etc...sad to lose this one.
