This could be the case where a win is a loss and a loss is a win for the Republicans? kentuck Oct 2018 #1

I always questioned the Democratic strategy. IMHO no investigation is better than a flawed one but I kept my counsel to myself. That being said if we play our cards right we can exploit the reaction to his nomination.

in my opinion. A confirmation only helps the Democrats in the upcoming election.

To have someone of such poor character on the Supreme Court is a loss for the country.

Kavanaugh is hyper partisan and unfit for the court. But here's the pragmatic view, he's not as extreme on social issues as most any other candidate Trump would have picked. He's actually qualified from an experience perspective to sit on the court. For Dems, they're about to seat a serial sexual predator on the court. What will likely happen is that more witnesses will come forward after he's confirmed, and potentially more victims. Use that in November.

All options are on the table if we take the Senate back. Think outside the box, that's what Reps have done. Impeaching and removing Kavanaugh is on the table, you think the Reps would let the rules or the law stop them from doing the same if it suited them? Get creative, find a way to remove Kavanaugh, it's not like the Republicans didn't just refuse to seat an Obama appointee forover a year.

People will follow this post with, "the Constitution doesn't allow for that...but the rules of the Senate....it's impossible." All of that stuff hasn't stopped Republicans from changing the rules, stretching the constitution, and plain old just breaking the law to get unpopular policies and rules rammed through.

These people (The GOP) don't intend to stop, they intend to drive this country into the ground regardless of what rules or the constitution say. It's high time we fought them the same way.
