Turtle actually had the votes to confirm. However, the party of Gropers always fall in line when it counts and I believe that they will this time too.

Though they all know there is and they all know the investigation was a white wash to give cover. So they could force a full investigation by refusing to vote till an appropriate investigation is completed. But they won't. They are not strong enough. If 3 or 4 stood together, strength in numbers.

Who knows what kind of threats they are getting internally from republicans. I think we can guess the kinds of threats they are getting from outside. It would be scary to be that one who sinks this confirmation and I don't think any of them have the guts to try it.

and acknowledge that Kavanaugh has lied to them on various topics, that's pretty an established record.

Trump stated

It wouldn't be difficult just to cite lies told by Kavanaugh for these Republican Senators.

I believe should they all adamantly oppose Kavanaugh on those grounds, his nomination will be withdrawn by Trump/Kavanaugh for family reasons.

11. Kavanaugh has told dozens of lies and you still hear the likes of Collins say, "If he has lied..."

Republicans don't give a shit about lying. If they did, they wouldn't be Republicans.

I don't think that is enough for GOPers to vote No. Hope I am wrong.

Schumer seems to indicate he did find some corroboration, but he was weak on details. Very disappointing.

13. I'm Almost Certain Collins Will Vote Yes

She's been looking for a reason to vote yes all along. I think Flake will do what he'd done all along: talk a big game and then fall right in line. We might get Murkowski, but it won't be enough. I also think Turncoat Manchin will vote yes.

14. If Collins does, she will never be able to hide behind the label of "moderate" Republican again

because one thing became apparent to any rational mind viewing Kavanaugh's testimony he's openly partisan, there is no doubt of this.

If Collins does confirm him after that, I believe her seat will be greatly endangered when she runs again.
