If he's confirmed this weekend, not sure the high lasts four weeks. Dem voter anger over it is far more likely to.

Good @jameshohmann look at revved up conservative base over Kavanaugh. It's real, for now. The Q is whether it's lasting or temporary sugar high.

Their mission will have been accomplished, ours just begins. Hard to see how that plays out as a net plus at the polls for them.

A month is an eternity in politics. Whatever bump the Republicans get from confirming Kavanaugh will likely run its course within a few weeks. But the Democratic and independent voter anger over it will remain, because anger is one of the strongest emotions that drives people to the polls. It's how Republicans won so many seats from 2009-16.

they'd have made sure the vote happened the week before the election...on say a Friday.

Thankfully, they are more evil than smart.

I agree it's hard to imagine the high lasting a month, and there's at least two more Trump fuckups coming before then.

is a near-eternity in the fast paced world of news today.

My prediction is that we will all be fighting over something else at least a couple of times in the next few weeks. Trump has a knack for changing the subject, and I fully expect him to do that again. At least twice.
