Time for me to take a break

I don’t see this all as workable anymore. Republicans are surging, Democrats are pulling back...we could well lose the House and Senate yet again.

We had a sitting president openly mock a sexual assault survivor and people in attendance laughed and cheered.

These last two years have shown me that I was horribly naive about the country I live in. That I thought it had grown and improved during Obama was wrong. I need to take account of how badly I read this country and could have been so ignorant of where we are as a society.

Income inequality is crushing the life out of us and the disparity is so huge at this point that there is little hope it can be fixed.
Same for climate change. There is no actual desire to make the hard choices to make it better.

I’ll do what I can for this election but I hold little hope things will change.

It’s not a fairytale, in real life the wealthy and powerful bad guys always win.

Maybe I’ll be back but right now I need to focus on other things.

We're here because good people stayed home thinking Hillary can win without them.

Which makes your post somewhat ironic. You vented. Feel better.

And get back to getting Dem candidates elected.

There are times of trouble when I retreat into my shell constructed for protection from disappointment. Within a day, I recognize my high expectations require my willingness to take action. "16 tons and what'dya get, another day older and deeper in debt."

While I agree, there are people of both genders, lacking respect of themselves and/or others, attack the basic values of a civilized society, they are few and we who have values are in the majority. "Don't let the bastards get you down."

The midterms are going to be awesome. Dems have already flipped a bunch of seats, what's to stop us now? Nothing, but ourselves. Keep driving forward.

Voter registration deadlines loom. Get dem dems registered. They should remember the 17 when they turn 18. #NeverAgainMSD

and our ability to win the war for democracy depends on maintaining our physical and mental health.

I have been heartened by the number of men who came forward and the number of institutions. It was more than I expected.

9. Seriously??? We have a DAMN good chance at two House seats and the Governor flipping in Kansas!!

Gov Brownback and his DISASTER tinkle down policy in Kansas was thrown in the dumpster in 2017 by both Dems and moderate Republicans who many were newly elected.

Democrat Laura Kelly has a damn good chance of sending Kris KKKobach down in flames in the Gov race because most Kansans know he would just take us back to the same Brownback zero percent tax rate for Corporations and MASSIVE debt for the State.

Hell for once I can't wait to VOTE in this Republican locked State!!

10. A break is good to take

Watch some new tv series like God Friended Me. It sounds corny but it is funny and has a message. Or watch on Netflix the Outlander. 3 seasons of what its was like over 200 years ago.
The world is old and has had empires come and go.

Concentrate this week on yourself. Get in nature. Hug a tree.
Listen to some favorite music.
Watch the waves or a river go by.
I myself am also upset and I am Canadian. I have had to step off the intensity of the DC soap from time to time.

You must keep your sanity.

Come back refreshed and calm.

But I'll still act from moral center when need arises.

I feel a profound sadness for the state of America right now. The brutes have taken over. Ignorance is glorified. Meanness the norm.

However, I do sense that this is a great global test of some kind. If humanity is to survive, it must evolve in awakeness and loving kindness. Human civilization 2.0

Given that.... I will act as if that is true. Maybe it will be.
