I ran out of tears months ago and now just numb.
It looks like a rapist is going to be put on the supreme court.
We are going back to back ally abortions and men preying on women without fear.
Minorities being abused.
2018 just became 1840.
I dont know what to do anymore
This country was founded on hatred by white men towards all and we will never change.

(9,895 posts)He can't wait to do it either...once the Mueller probe gets shut down and he needs to distract everyone (again) the missiles will fly and millions will die...I have never in my life hated another human being to the extent I hate Trump. Please just fucking die Trump, collapse in a heap and draw no more breath you waste of fucking oxygen pig.

(6,377 posts)I don't agree that he's going to do it, but if he was going it, it's not like Mueller is stopping him.

(8,133 posts)would threaten or start a nuclear war. He thinks that talk about it will scare people into submission, anger, violence, etc., etc. He probably thinks his boyfriends from North Korea & Russia wouldn't really hurt "his country" or worse, just doesn't give a crap if they do as long as he and his family are safe in a below ground bunker.

(6,377 posts)Which said that he would wait until the Mueller probe is over to start launching nuclear missiles. If he wanted to threaten or start nuclear war, I don't see why he would wait until the Mueller probe is over, it's not like Mueller is stopping him.
At the same time, people have been saying this since Trump was elected. We're almost halfway through his term, and nothing of the sort has happened.

(4,218 posts)the protesters gathering in DC and marching toward the Supreme Court. Small bit of hope there. Were not totally lying down yet. Just think what theyd do to us if we did that. We need to rely on each other.

(46,166 posts)Today I keep remembering the struggles of the suffragettes. I'm finding strength from them. It doesn't mean that my stomach isn't churning because it is today.
I can't give in to the despair that this dog and pony show of the past days was engineered to cause. This setback is something to be endured and then gotten through to the other side.
They'll crow and think they've beaten us but we'll prevail because dictators rarely survive.

(9,527 posts)We didn't get into this position overnight and we won't get out of it overnight. The only way we lose is to give up. No progress is ever linear. It's always a slog and a fight.

(63,868 posts)it was mentioned that Senators have security because of the protesters, ha, wait there will be many more protesters. Such disrespect from Repigs they have forgotten we can vote them out. That is if we all get there and vote.
To be silent is letting them think we have rolled over.

(6,044 posts)where you are with even a very small group, meet together, and take some actions-however small they seem. Tell the rest of us what you are doing.
The internet is perverse, it brings us together but also keeps us apart.
I don't want to minimize the danger we are in but I believe we are going to successfully defend the Constitution, ourselves, our freedoms, liberty, and rights.
I believe it is important to know where we stand and who the enemy is. No Republican senator is going to fight for freedom or democracy or fairness. If they were ever going to do so, they would have left that party by now. Each senator who gave false hope wasted our time and resources. If they wanted to do the right thing, they would have done it. They chose dictatorship and duplicity over the Constitution and the people.
So, as for the senate, we need to focus on getting as many senators as we can elected in November and concentrate on holding them accountable and ensuring their re-election.
We then need to focus on the institutions and people in every part of the country who truly believe in democracy, equality and freedom and liberty for all. These are our allies, our compatriots, and ultimately this is where the power lies in a democracy. If we only think of ourselves as Democrats )important as that is) we lose some power. We are the citizenry (I include aspiring citizens in that) and ultimately that is where the power must lie in a democracy.
Democracy has not failed us; representative democracy has failed. I believe it will take a decade at a minimum for us to prevail but we need to be clear about our destination first.

(23,955 posts)pretty much end of the line here
if there's a country you'd rather live in, now is the time to emigrate (probably would have been easier 6 years ago, but there's still a window of opportunity)
if you stay, prepare for plenty more hits, get ready to fight back -- and not with the usual abstracted political strategies either, this is going to get very rude and very personal very quickly.
at least that's what my punched gut is telling me.
