Trump does not want Kavenaugh to be confirmed.

Anyway, I have a theory that he began acting outrageously and got (ordered?) Kavenaugh and Graham to act outrageously so enough senators would find it impossible to confirm, to the end that his base is whipped into a white rage. The success of this is demonstrated by the ever narrowing gap (since Kav confirmation hearings began) between Dem and GOP energy levels.

Trump is smart in only one thing, guaging the temper of the deplorables.

because Kav will totally be under investigations. . . but so is t-rump and his administration. This is the most corrupt government from top to bottom.

GOPers have no morals nor souls and I'll say many were breast feed to boot.

I really wish cartoonists would start portraying 8 justices peering at the 9th passed out out on the floor, awaiting his vote on a case...

but it does jive with how tRump operates. He needs an issue to rail against. It could be Muslims, illegals, or whatever. If Kavanaugh fails to be confirmed, that will become on of his top issue in 2020.

According to what we know the law and procedure of the JOB interview were meet, albeit minimially and probably not to the FBI's complete satisfaction.

Criminal investigation versus job background check are different things.

Criminal investigation will continue....

Just like he's making the most out of an administration he supposedly never wanted to head up, he'll be getting a lot out of the conservative majority on the Court.

the Orange Dumbfuck way too much credit. He's not nearly smart enough to play 5-D chess. Hell, it's probably hard enough just keeping him from eating the checkers when he plays.

And yes, I know he has ratfuckers who work for him, but I don't think much happens without President Shitstain approving of it.

1 - overturn Roe v Wade - a campaign promise kept
2 - a friend on the SC when a presidential powers case comes up
3 - solidify evangelical/reich-wing support for mid-terms and 2020

kavanaugh is a perfect pick for trump - and he is a horse-hair away from confirmation

Kavanaugh is being put in place for many reasons, but the main one is to help protect Trump.

We have nothing left except to vote our asses off and to get as many people as we can to vote. Ignore the polls completely. Assume nothing and vote.

There is no enthusiasm gap. There is no "two-sides." There is no "country divided." There is no chance of a "civil war."

There is just a minority of mostly white, vicious, hateful, ignorant, classless, amoral, evil people in this country, and their "leaders" worked with Putin to steal the 2016 election, get into power, and force their worldview on the majority of the country who do not want it. That's it. Nothing more, nothing less.

We are being governed by the mob plus the extreme right-wing fundamentalists. Think Godfather meets The Handmaid's Tale and that is where we're at. That's it. And Kavanaugh will be confirmed and will completely destroy any credibility left in our institutions. Democracy and our rights will be something we're going to have to fight like hell for, likely for the rest of our lives.

So, vote. But don't expect anyone to save us. Not happening.

You're giving Trump credit for being able to plan something out more than one step at a time.

And, being as we're so close to the election, he can use whatever outcome of the Kavanaugh confirmation to whip up his base. That's one thing he's shown himself to be able to do, almost flawlessly, and no matter what issue he decides to step into.
