It won't matter if all 49 Dems vote no if there aren't any Republicans who will cross the aisle.

Every democrat has to vote no plus two no votes from republicans.

I am not seeing how that is going to happen.

Manchin, Murkowski and Sasse are the ones left undecided AFAIK

Do you mean Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota? Isn't she a Democrat? It should NOT be any kind of news that's she's voting no. If she were to vote to confirm Kavanaugh (which is the vote I presume you're referring to) then she absolutely should be voting against him. As should every single other Democrat in the Senate. It should only be news if we hear that some Republicans are planning to vote no.

Again, it's really not news that a Democrat will vote no. The news we desperately need is that at least two Republicans come to their senses and vote no.

I'm proud of her for standing up for what's right, even if it means she will lose re-election. We should applaud Democrats when they do the right thing.

She should understand that confirming Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court is wrong on so very many levels that keeping him off should matter a fuck of a lot more than her next election.

Which is the essential problem with almost every single Senator and Representative: They want to be re-elected no matter what. So they'll betray their constituents and the country almost every single time, if they think it will gain them another term in office.

what she decided -- but I'll also be fine if, in the case of the R's having the votes all by themselves to approve BK, if Joe Manchin adds his in.

As long as it doesn't change the outcome, I would support whatever decision he feels he needs to make to keep his seat -- which is critical.

Our demand for purity is how we lost our DINO's in the red states, and why we lost our majorities.

constituents might want. As in, not voting confirm an erratic, emotional, molester even if your constituents want him confirmed.

And I won't be fine with a single Democrat who votes for him, and I have nothing but contempt for the women, regardless of power, who apparently will vote for him.

From the polls I've seen, it looks like she's going to lose her seat anyway. There's absolutely no reason in the world for her to vote for this detestable man.
